Irish-Exclusive Get Him To The Greek Clip…

Thanks to the guys over at Universal Pictures Ireland, check out this Irish-exclusive web clip from the upcoming Russell Brand and Jonah Hill film Get Him to The Greek, the spin-off from the rather wonderful Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It is probably our most anticipated comedy of the year. Give the clip a look below, and put the candy in the jar. Parental advisory.

  1. While i rather enjoyed Brand in Sarah Marshall, I am to the point where I pretty much loathe Jonah Hill. I think he’s a horrendous actor who was put to the spotlight because of the excellent writing of Superbad. Just because of Hill, i’m gonna have to pass on this one.

    • I actually don’t have a problem with Hill. He’s not Olivier, but he gets the job done. I did go into Sarah Marshall dreading Brand, though – the guy just rubs me the wrong way and I was never overly impressed with him – but thought he was a perfect fit in the kinda ditzy rock star role. I’m waiting to see if that “funny rock star” bit can be dragged out to a feature-length movie on its own, but I’ve heard some good buzz and it looks pretty cool.

      • He’s perfect to play this part but I’m not a fan of Brand either. Hill is hilarious though… even for the 2 seconds he’s in 40 year old virgin!

      • I never had a problem with Hill. I remember going back and spotting him as that weird guy in the store. I love when you spot a modern celebrity in an early role.

  2. I was actually more annoyed by Mintz-Plasse than anything Cera or Hill did.

Get Him to the Greek looks good to me and I’m surprised that Sean Combs is funny.

    • Yep, Sean Combs always struck me as the kinda guy who really wanted to be funny and had lots of funny friends, and so weaseled his way into comedy that way (I’m always wary of musicians-turned-actors). In fairness, he’s been pretty decent in the stuff I’ve seen him in – Made is the one that comes to mind.

  3. I’m looking forward to this one. I know a lot of people slate Brand and yes he is the same character in every movie. But, he’s entertaining and I have to say I enjoyed the Sarah Marshall movie.

  4. “Bottom hole”… haha… sounds quite beautiful in a British accent!
I gotta say, when I heard about this flick I wasn’t too excited but the more I see clips and trailers, I get super psyched… it looks hilarious.
My only problem is this… why have Brand go back to the Sarah Marshall character and then have Hill be someone else. It’s distracting… Brand should’ve just been a completely different character.

    • Yep. I hate stuff like that, where an actor pops up in the same franchise as a different character and nobody’s like “You look familiar…” I think the Bond movies may have done it once or twice, but it’s always been mostly a TV thing.

  5. What a great, great movie. I saw this about a week ago in advance and man, was it a great time. I’d be happy to go see it again. Hill and Brand work so well together, which is surprising considering that their bits in Sarah Marshall were the weakest overall, and FYI, P. Diddy steals every scene he’s in.

Check it out on Friday. I’m dying to know what you think.

    • You lucky so-and-so. We don’t get it until much later in the month, I’m afraid. Damn Atlantic Ocean, ruining everything.

  6. The trailers make this look like it could be a right laugh. Shame I can’t stand Russell Brand.

    • In fairness, I think Alvin Snow works well, because Brand is essentially playing the version of himself he offers up in media interviews. Which, i suppose, is only worse if you can’t stand him.
